NOTE FROM THE ARTIST
I paint women because I am one, and because so much of my life has been shaped by trying to meet societal expectations. I see other women struggling with those same pressures—the constant push to fit in, to soften ourselves, to shrink.
In my work, I want to offer a different image. I portray women as strong, unapologetic, and unafraid to inhabit their true, authentic selves. These paintings are both a celebration of who women are and a reflection of who I wish I had allowed myself to be earlier in life. Only now, later on, have I fully recognized my own strength and given myself permission to step into it.
My art is my way of reclaiming that power—and inviting other women to do the same.
I’m excited to collaborate with Thresh, an organization that promotes social change through the arts. Our missions align deeply—we both strive to uplift women and foster a sense of positive identity and belonging. This partnership feels like a natural extension of my work, and I’m inspired by the possibility of creating meaningful impact together.
