Flagship Project — 20th Anniversary Commission Whispering Portals
Whispering Portals is a multidisciplinary performance weaving movement, music, and immersive media to explore identity, belonging, and democracy through women’s stories. Conceived as a duet between choreographer Preeti Vasudevan and composer and multi-instrumentalist Clarice Assad, the work draws from personal narrative, cultural memory, and shared inquiry.
At its heart are Indigenous voices, including Native American matriarchs whose lullabies carry land-based knowledge, memory, and intergenerational wisdom. Placed within a timeless augmented reality space, these stories invite audiences into a shared experience where listening becomes central and the personal becomes collective.

Voices in Conversation
Voices of Women is shaped not only through performance, but through conversation. Interviews, panels, and shared dialogue deepen the work, creating space for listening, reflection, and exchange beyond the stage.
Listening as Practice
Voices of Women begins with listening. By centering women’s stories and cultural memory, the work creates space for reflection, dialogue, and deeper understanding—inviting audiences to consider how lived experience shapes belonging, identity, and responsibility.
