J.ED ARAIZA has a long and varied experience working on multicultural and cross disciplinary projects as a writer, director and performer. For the past twenty years he has been a member of the internationally acclaimed SITI Company with whom he continues to perform, tour and teach.

SITI Company Acting credits include: Trojan Women, Under Construction, Who Do You Think You Are, Hotel Cassiopeia, Midsummer Night’s Dream, bobrauschenbergamerica, Culture of Desire, The Medium, Small Lives/Big Dreams, War of the Worlds, The Radio Play, and Nicolas and Alexandra at The Los Angeles Opera, Actors Theatre of Louisville, New York Theatre Workshop, Walker Arts Center, City Theatre in Pittsburgh, Wexner Center for the Arts, Krannert Arts Center, Theatre Artaud in San Francisco, Dublin Theatre Festival, Toga International Arts Festival in Japan, The Olympic Arts Festival in Atlanta, The Public Theatre NY,  the Edinburgh International Festival, San Jose Repertory Theatre, The Kennedy Center for the Arts, EXIT Festival in France and the Bonn Biennial in Germany, as well as the Brooklyn Academy of Music among many venues.

As a playwright with seven original full-length plays produced, Mr. Araiza is a member of The Dramatist Guild, Austin Script Works and NoPE(No Passport Required). He has written the original plays: MEDEASTORIES, C/O THE GROVE and THE HOUSE all of which he directed in Texas; in Minneapolis, Minnesota he wrote and directed THE LOST PROJECT, A Night Time Fantasia. Other original plays directed include WHERE DO I BEGIN produced in Boulder, Colorado and LOST/THE WATER PROJECT at Bowdoin College in Maine.

Mr. Araiza has directed over 20 productions from Iceland to Canada and all over the U.S. He has led workshops internationally from Seoul, Korea to Bogota, Colombia.
