Education is a key part of the Thresh philosophy. With a unique methodology being developed by its artistic Director, Preeti Vasudevan, Thresh education focuses on the technique and pedagogy of Indian classical dance, Bharatanatyam, while incorporating movement analysis stemming from Laban analysis. This creates the opportunity to foster the development of a new creative language while continuing to go deeper in the understanding of traditional movement forms.

Thresh organizes creatively stimulating educational programs that place the performing arts at the center of the learning experience with the goal of encouraging self-expression and cross-cultural understanding among audiences of multiple age-groups.   Thresh’s education programs are created for three specific audiences:  the general public, with little previous dance experience; dance and movement professionals; and educational groups in schools and universities.
