Les Dickert designs for a diverse range of performance, spanning contemporary and Shakespearean theater, modern dance, classical ballet, and international performance art. Recent activity includes Largo (Lucinda Childs), Hamlet, Othello, and Twelfth Night (Shakespeare and Company), and Opus 19 (San Francisco Ballet). He has designed at numerous international dance venues, including the Paris Opera Ballet, Teatro all Scala, Edinburgh International Festival, Sadler’s Wells, Leipzig Ballet, and the Izmir Dance Festival. In the United States, he has designed for the ballet companies of San Francisco, Tulsa, Portland, Pennsylvania, Miami, Westchester and Kansas City, as well as Jacob’s Pillow, The Kennedy Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Great Lakes Theater Festival, Geva Theater, Portland Stage, and others. Mr. Dickert recently received the Mahindra Excellence in Theater Award for best lighting in India (The Absent Lover). Graduate of the Yale School of Drama.
