Since her Carnegie Hall debut in 2002, pianist Isabelle O’Connell has
performed as soloist and chamber musician around the United States,
Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy and Ireland. As chamber musician she has toured with the Crash Ensemble and performed with John Adams at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall, Meredith Monk at the Bang on a Can Summer Festival, Alarm Will Sound, the New Zealand String Quartet and has appeared as concerto soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.
A noted interpreter and energetic advocate of music by living composers, she regularly commissions and premieres new works. Her recently released CD ‘RESERVOIR’ on the Diatribe label, features solo piano music by contemporary Irish composers.In 2007, Isabelle was co-artistic director of ‘New Music, New Ireland, New York’, a concert that showcased contemporary Irish composers at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall.
She has performed at festivals in Europe, Australia and the U.S. including
the Canberra International Chamber Music Festival, the Norfolk Chamber
Music Festival, Belfast Festival, Sligo New Music Festival, Waterford New
Music Week and the Shannon International Music Festival.
Isabelle has appeared on television and radio on both sides of the
Atlantic, including WFMT Chicago, BBC3, RTÉ and TV3.
