Cindy Chung Camins is a dance artist based in Queens, NY.  Born in Taiwan, she grew up in the suburbs of Southern California, and graduated from UCLA with BAs in World Arts and Cultures and International Development Studies.  Having an eclectic dance background has led to a continual investigation in a variety of movement techniques and somatic practices, which she enjoys exploring through choreography and structured improvisation.  Cindy has worked/explored with many independent choreographers including Victoria Marks, Milka Djordjevich/Team Djordjevich, tompricedance, Sasha Welsh/Victory to Others, Mariangela Lopez, Jenni Hong Dance, and Nina Winthrop, among others, performing in NY venues such as DTW, Danspace at St. Marks Church, Movement Research at Judson Church, and NY City Center.  She has also spent a chunk of her professional career touring the US and abroad with Parijat Desai Dance Company, and was most recently seen in the Bessie Award winning Fräulein Maria with Doug Elkins and Friends.  Cindy deepens her interest in the human body and spirit by studying and teaching Yoga and Pilates.  She is thrilled to be a part of Thresh Dance.  Love to Mr. Camins.
